About Us
Christian City Church Greensboro started in 1999 when Pastors Whit and Ressie Toland came here from their home church in Asheville. Pastor Whit served on staff at The Rock of Asheville for 8 years before being sent out to plant a church here. 
Christian City Church Greensboro is a part of a larger association of churches called Christian City Church International based in Sydney, Australia. Christian City Church is a growing movement of churches that is directed by Dr. Phil Pringle. Our philosophy of reaching today’s generation is to plant strong local churches that are fun, powerful and relevant. Currently there are over 120 Christian City Churches throughout the world, with a goal of 500 churches by the year 2020.
Our Beliefs
- There is one God the Creator: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
- In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God; we believe in His virgin birth, in his sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His abiding intercession and in His imminent return.
- In the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruits and gifts abiding in the Church.
- The Bible is the living word of God – infallible, authoritative and everlasting, and the foundation of all Christian doctrine.
- In the spiritually lost condition of all people and the essential need for the “new birth” by faith in Jesus Christ.
- In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to believers subsequent to the new birth, with the normal initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.
- In the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and baptism by full immersion in water for all believers.
- In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
- In the church being the body of Christ, and each member being an active part of a local church, fulfilling the Great Commission.
Our Compass
God has called us to be a house of prayer. When we get together, unified in prayer, we are able to see the future of our church and we order our steps accordingly. We listen and we step out in boldness to accomplish what God has called us to do. Our church is built on prayer.
Our Vision
As a New Testament Church, God has called us to speak to the culture that we live in, in a way that they can understand. Our music, our out reach, our style, our way of looking at ministry is relevant to the culture we live in.
God has called us to reach people, teach them about life in the kingdom of God, and empower them to fulfill their God given potential.
Our Culture
Bright, Positive, Fun, Relevant, Powerful! At Christian City Church Greensboro, God has called us to create an environment where God can live and move and touch people’s lives. A culture full of faith, excitement, and fun. A culture where God’s word is taught, disciples are made and lives are changed.
